Hello! Welcome to my little corner. I am so glad you are here. You obviously already know I’m a photographer so I’ll share some other aspects of my life. (Although I could talk about photography all day I’ll talk about something else for a minute).
I am a wife to a handsome Physician Assistant. We are alums to rival Universities (love knows no bounds right?). I graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor’s degree in Parks, Recreation & Tourism with an emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation (whew what a mouthful).
I worked as a Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist for Camp K where we ran a summer camp and community programs for people with disabilities. I then ran Recreational Therapy programs at a residential treatment center for adolescent males. While working as a Rec. Therapist I went back to school for a year to earn my certificate as a CSUDC (Certified Substance Use Disorder Counselor). Okay all of that resume verbage is to try and say to you that I love working with people from all different backgrounds and all abilities! Worried your teenage son might roll his eyes during the shoot, I had 40 of those teenage boys at once I had to get hyped about hiking so I got it! Have a family member that processes at a different speed or who doesn’t like physical touch, not a problem, we will adapt and go with the flow!
Speaking of going with the flow- my 3 little boys also help me learn to go with the flow. They are loud and wild and messy and my biggest blessings. I am no stranger to being ready to pull the shutter release in a quick second to get that fleeting moment. I have 3 boys ages 4-8 (but I also had them ages 1-5 and know how I have to be fast) and they are my models when I catch a creative bug and just have to see what is possible in photoshop. They are my pride and joy and the reason I stay motivated to live my best life. I think about the love I have for my own family when taking family portraits and I truly try my best to convey the love you have for your family in your pictures too because I know it’s a scream from the rooftops make your heart feel like bursting out of your chest type of love.
